Spot Analysis (Preview)
You can check what a dynamic electricity tariff would have cost for one of your sites, using that site's measured consumption. Spot Analysis compares your consumption with real exchange prices, month by month.
Spot Analysis is a preview. It is currently free for all teams, including those on the Community plan, and it may still contain errors. How it will be placed in the plans later has not been decided yet. Your feedback helps.
What it compares
The analysis sets two things side by side for one electricity consumption meter:
- A fixed reference. The energy price and base fee of a contract with a fixed price, which you enter.
- A spot reference. The same consumption, priced with the hourly or quarter-hourly day-ahead exchange price plus a surcharge and a base fee.
The period is the last 12 months up to yesterday, limited by the data you have and by your plan's data retention. The period does not begin before October 2025. Consumption arrives with the usual one-day delay (T-1).
Only electricity consumption meters appear in the meter picker. A team with only feed-in meters sees a notice and a shortcut to add a consumption meter.
Set it up
- Open Data → Spot Analysis and choose a meter.
- Click Start analysis under Fixed tariff for comparison.
- Enter your fixed energy price in ct/kWh (net) and your monthly base fee.
- Choose a Spot reference: one of the provider presets, or Custom. A custom reference takes a fixed surcharge, a base fee and a price interval (every 15 minutes or hourly). Percentage surcharges and price floors are not supported.
- Save. You can change the values later with Edit.
Each preset shows a note with the conditions of that offer, for example the annual consumption limit or the region, and a link to the source. The presets are reference values taken from public provider information, not a recommendation or a ranking. Check the conditions and your own contract before you rely on a result.
What you see
- Without a saved fixed reference: your volume-weighted average spot price, meaning the average exchange price weighted by when you actually consumed, and the wholesale energy cost of your consumption at the exchange price alone. Surcharge and base fee are not included.
- With a saved fixed reference: the difference between the two references over the period, shown as "Savings with Spot" or "Spot would cost more". Next to it you see your fixed price against the all-in spot average and the total cost of both, plus a bar chart in ct/kWh that splits the spot side into exchange price, surcharge and base fee.
- Monthly breakdown. The same comparison month by month, so you can see which months favoured which reference.
- Spot prices. The wholesale exchange price over time, in EUR/MWh.
- Coverage. How many quarter-hours of the period could be matched with a price.
The information icon in the Fixed tariff for comparison section opens How the comparison works in the app.
Read the results with these limits
- Past, not future. The analysis shows what the period would have cost. It does not forecast and does not promise savings.
- Net energy costs only. VAT, grid fees, taxes and discounts are excluded. A result is not a bill total.
- Gaps stay gaps. Only quarter-hours that have both a consumption value and a price are counted. Missing readings are not estimated. When coverage is incomplete, the page says so and shows how many quarter-hours were matched, and the difference cannot be extended to the whole period.
- Constant reference values. Your prices and fees are applied unchanged across the whole period. Past price changes and an existing dynamic contract are not reconstructed.
- Base fees by calendar day. They are prorated over the days of the displayed period, including months with missing data.
- Hourly providers. Offers that bill hourly are calculated at quarter-hour resolution, so totals can differ slightly from an actual bill.
- One meter, one reference. The analysis does not compare the whole tariff market and does not rank suppliers.
If the page is missing
If you do not see Spot Analysis under Data, the preview is not available for your team, for example because it has no electricity consumption meter. Contact us and we will look into it.
