Frequently asked questions

On Light, Plus and Pro we operate the EDA connection for you. You sign up and start right away. On the BYO plans everything runs through your own EDA market partner (KEP): your consents sit with your market partner and stay portable, so you can switch provider without re-authorising your meters.

Light, Plus, Pro and BYO have no meter limit. Community is capped at 1 meter. Volume discounts are available on request.

On BYO plans, consents are tied to your own KEP and remain yours permanently, so you can switch providers or plans without re-requesting consent from your meters. On Shared plans (Light, Plus and Pro), consents are managed by us, and re-consent is required if you later move to a different provider.

Community is free with no commitment. Light, Plus and Pro can be billed monthly or annually. BYO plans are billed annually. No setup fees for any plan.

Technically yes. But: your own communication infrastructure (Ponton server or mail endpoint), 3–6 months of development time, ongoing maintenance of interfaces to over 140 grid operators. With energiedaten.at, you save all of that.

Yes. You can request past consumption data retroactively from the grid operator: up to 12 months on Light, 24 months on Plus, and 36 months on Pro and BYO plans. The available time period depends on the grid operator and may be limited to the period the current meter holder has had the contract.
