Choose a question and adapt the site and dates. Your assistant can fetch relevant readings as the conversation develops, so you can follow up on a particular day or metering point.

Consumption outside working hours
Review electricity consumption at [site] from [start date] to [end date]. Compare hourly weekday and weekend patterns. Show base load and data coverage, with units.
Data to ask for
Hourly weekday and weekend profiles show when demand rises and falls. Base load helps you examine the level of demand that persists across the period.
Follow up with the site’s actual opening hours. A consumption pattern alone does not identify which equipment was running.
Demand peaks
Show the largest electricity demand peaks at [site] from [start date] to [end date], with time and metering point. Compare them with the coincident peak for the whole site.
Data to ask for
Peak values in kW, with interval timestamps and metering points. The site’s coincident peak shows the combined demand at one time.
Investigate the surrounding intervals. Adding each meter’s individual maximum can overstate the site peak when they occurred at different times.
Sites worth a closer look
Compare electricity consumption across my sites from [start date] to [end date]. Check data coverage before ranking them, then show the day profile for the highest-consumption site.
Data to ask for
Consumption totals in kWh and coverage for the same period help you choose where to investigate next.
Consider building use and size before drawing conclusions. Building benchmarks need the relevant building information and sufficient data.
Missing or estimated readings
Check data coverage at [site] from [start date] to [end date]. Show measured and estimated readings and the latest delivery by metering point. Explain which gaps affect the analysis.
Data to ask for
Coverage, quality levels and delivery information help you assess whether the selected period supports your comparison.
Missing values remain distinguishable from zero consumption. Ask for the effective period when it differs from the dates you requested.

Open the connector setup with the server name and URL already filled in.
Set up in Claude- Review the connector and continue. Keep authentication required and let Claude register an OAuth client automatically.
- Add the connector, then select Connect to open the energiedaten.at sign-in page.
ChatGPT and Codex on desktop
Connecting ChatGPT directly to Energiedaten requires the ChatGPT desktop app. This setup is unavailable in ChatGPT on the web and in the mobile apps.
Download the ChatGPT desktop app- Open Settings → MCP servers → Add server.
- Name the server Energiedaten, choose Streamable HTTP and enter the server URL shown on this page.
- Save, then select Restart. Select Authenticate beside the server to open the energiedaten.at sign-in page.

Other MCP clients
Use the server URL in a client that supports remote HTTP MCP with OAuth. Custom connections may depend on the client’s plan or workspace settings.

Authorize access and start a conversation
Sign in to energiedaten.at, select your team and authorize access. Return to your assistant and enable the connection for your chat. This question shows which data is available:
Use Energiedaten to tell me which team is connected, then list its metering points and available data windows.
Use the answer in your investigation
Check the period, units and data coverage behind the answer. Energy totals use kWh; power profiles use kW and need hourly or finer electricity readings. Ask about a specific date when a pattern looks unusual.
Your knowledge of the building matters: operating hours, equipment and changes in use help explain what the readings show. You can inspect the same patterns in Energy Analysis.
Access and data processing
The connection reads the authorized team’s available data, including customer and site information. Your chosen AI provider processes the returned data under its own terms. You can revoke further access under Connected apps in your team’s account settings.
Frequently asked questions
- Does this work with every AI model?
- The connection is provided by the application you use. Look for support for remote HTTP MCP and OAuth. Custom connectors may require a particular plan or permission from your workspace administrator.
- What if I do not have readings yet?
- Create an Energiedaten account, connect your metering points and wait for readings to arrive. Then choose dates within the available data window. Adding an AI connection does not collect readings by itself.
- Can the assistant change data or control equipment?
- The MCP tools read data for analysis. They do not change metering points, request consent or control equipment.
- How do I switch teams or disconnect?
- Authorize the connection again to select a different team. Switching teams in the Energiedaten app does not switch the AI connection. To stop access, open Connected apps under Account in the authorized team and revoke the connection.
