Your smart meter data, in your systems every day.

97 % of Austria's electricity connection points have a smart meter. Once the meter holder releases the data, the responsible grid operator delivers the consumption values in full 15-minute resolution over the EDA network, and we unify the format across every grid area. In your systems every day, regardless of which distribution grid the meter sits in.

Connect, get consent, verify quality

“Connect smart meter” form with metering-point input, direction choice, and the historical-request option.

Connect

Enter the 33-character metering point ID, choose consumption or feed-in, and optionally request up to 3 years of history right away.

A meter's connection timeline showing the consent steps; confirmation in the grid operator portal is still pending.

Get consent

After connecting, the request goes to the grid operator, and the meter holder confirms consent in its portal. The connection timeline shows every step for each meter until the first value arrives.

Complete coverage

The data-coverage calendar shows, day by day for each meter, whether the values are complete, gapped, or still pending. Data quality at a glance.

Your systems and reporting

How the values reach your systems →

What arrives is the same from every grid area:

15-minute values Consumption & feed-in Daily delivery (T-1) Quality level per value

We run the EDA endpoint, you add meters

The hosted connection is the standard route for smart meter data. You add a meter, we send the request to the grid operator, and once the meter holder gives consent, the grid operator delivers the values to us over the EDA network. You need no EDA infrastructure of your own.

Already running your own Ponton server, or need a dedicated endpoint that we operate? Both routes give you a dedicated endpoint in the EDA network. We work out the right setup with you in a call.

Data you can rely on

Smart meter data is rarely complete from day one. Some values are measured, some estimated, and individual days can be missing. On the platform every value carries its quality level. Uncertain values must be replaced by verified measurements within 60 days by law, and they flow in once they are. Your history is there from the start: when you connect a meter, we request up to 3 years of consumption data.

Frequently asked questions

How soon does the first data arrive?
After you register the metering point, the request goes to the grid operator and the meter holder confirms consent in its portal. Confirmation itself often takes only minutes to hours. Expect the first consumption values to reach you within 1 to 5 working days, depending on the grid operator.
What does the meter holder have to do?
The meter holder signs in to their grid operator's portal and confirms the data release there. Only with that consent do the values flow to you. This one step we cannot take for you; everything before and after it we handle.
What about data protection and revocation?
The data release runs through the grid operator's standardised consent process and is GDPR-compliant. The meter holder decides which metering points are released and can withdraw consent at any time in their grid operator's portal.
How far back does the historical data go?
When you connect a meter, we request up to 3 years of consumption data along with it on request, as long as the grid operator provides it.
Which meters does this work for?
Smart meters across Austria. 97 % of electricity connection points already have one, and through the EDA network we reach every grid area and with it over 140 grid operators. Which distribution grid the meter sits in makes no difference to the connection.
