Managing Locations & Customers

Once you're managing more than a handful of meters, locations and customers help you stay organised and group consumption data in a meaningful way.

Locations

Available from the Starter plan.

A location represents a physical place — a building, a property, or a facility. Meters assigned to a location can be filtered and analysed together.

Locations support a building profile (usage type, floor area, year of construction), which is used for consumption-based benchmarks. This lets you compare specific consumption in kWh/m² and identify outliers.

Creating a location:

  1. Navigate to Locations → New location.
  2. Enter the name, address, and optionally a building profile.
  3. Assign meters.

Customers

Available from the Growing plan.

A customer is an organisational unit — for example a tenant, a company, or a public authority. Customers can group multiple locations and meters.

Typical use cases:

  • Energy service providers managing consumption data for multiple end customers
  • Property managers with multiple tenants per property
  • Energy consultants handling portfolios for different clients

Creating a customer:

  1. Navigate to Customers → New customer.
  2. Enter the name and contact details.
  3. Link locations or meters directly to the customer.

Hierarchy

Assignments are flexible:

Customer (optional)
  └── Location
        └── Meter

Every meter is assigned to a location. A location can exist without a customer — customer assignment is optional. Assignments can be changed at any time.
